After a year my parents bought me my first fake Fender Strat : the guitar craziness started when the song “Still got the Blues” was released .... I went to a Gary Moore concert when I was twelve, and then listened to nothing else. I even imitated him on a talent show at school that I won. From that day I decided I really wanted to go to the conservatory and was happy with all the support from my parents to do so."

When Glenn grew up you could always find him in the record stores with his nose in a box of cd’s. He bought them to play the cd’s over and over. His interest went to blues and Rock but at home his parents listened too “The Beatles, The Shadows (where his first guitar hero Hank B. Marvin played) & Cliff Richard”. At that time he bought the more “ruff” varieties of Rock and blues spending his money on The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix & other bands from the 80’s and 90’s. Thanks to his dad he came in touch with artists like Eric Clapton, SRV, Police & Steve Miller to name a view.

Glenn quote:

“I always heard the songs from The Shadows in my dreams and wanted to play the way they did. But mostly I wanted his Red Fender guitar.”

His Soulfulness Came from his sister who listened to artists as Janet Jackson , Paula Abdul, and many others...

Eventually he found his passion in crossover music like Prince & TOTO. In the 90’s his dad played in a country band that made them sitting with their guitars to play the solo’s of various country songs. That’s where he learned his Country chops. By his study at the conservatory he came in touch with Jazz. His horizon and knowledge was expanded and his studies opened a new world for him. By playing in different bands and different artists from all genres he came in touch with all kinds of styles like Reggea, Funk, R&B, Gospel & even Metal. For these styles he would lock himself up for weeks to get the best results for each genre.

Glenn is a frequently asked guitarist. The list of bands and projects he has been involved is too long to mention. In recent years he was a guitarist for Kurt Nilson / World Idol , Celebration Dance Band , Alain Clark ,  Dewi 's Jam , 2Play , Separate Chain Reaction Girls Behind the Scene , Rigter live band , SO ! Gospel Choir , Jaap Reesema , TRiPiE , STiPPiE. PerformerCollective, Ben Reel, Ryan Bechoe, Raak, Harlem Honkies.

2017 will be a big year for Glenn cause he is currently working on his first “solo” guitar instrumental album. Different styles vibes grooves and influences will be flavored on songs that will mainly be recorded at The Highwood Studio.

Glenn Schwärzer :

Known from his incredible out of the box skills, stories and sound! He plays in several bands throughout the Netherlands with his friends and colleague musicians.

Glenn quote:

“My passion for the guitar started when I was three years old. I’ve played on toy guitars in my youth. No sound came out but I liked playing because my father played guitar. I was six when my neighbor had thrown his acoustic guitar at the dump that actually became my first "real" guitar on which I’ve learned my first chords.
